(Effect of Microminerals against Fertility Mice Female DDY Strain)

Microminerals were needed by the body in very small amounts in which they have important physiological roles in the body including the fertilization of living things. This study aimed to observe the dose and period of administration of the preparation of microminerals in order to improve the fertilization in female mice of DDY strain. The study was conducted on 60 female mice of DDY strain with five different concentration of microminerals namely 1.5 ; 3.0 ; 6.0 ; 12 and 24 % (v/v). The study was continued using three different period of administration namely 10 days before the mating, 18 days after the mating and 28 days (10 days followed by 18 days after mating) in which the method used was designed in the manner of bigamy ie 1 male mouse caged with 2 female mice. The preparation was given every day during three different period of the observation. The indicator of fertilization was macroscopically observed by counting the number of fetus in the uterus of female mice on 19th day after the appearance of a vaginal plug. As conclusion, the greatest number of fetus was obtained from the administration of the preparation with concentration of 6 % that was given for 10 days before the mating.

Screening of candidate of antitumor compounds begins with research on lethality test on microorganisms such as shrimp larvae. The study is further continued to test the cytotoxicity of various polarities of plant extracts against various type of tumor cell lines. This study aimed to obtained the value of Lethality Concentration Fifty (LC50) of the water, methanol, ethyl acetate and n - hexane extract of curcumae on shrimp larvae mortality using Brine Shrimp Lethality Test ( BSLT) followed by observing the cytotoxicity against MDCK cell lines (Madin-Darby Canine Kidney Epithelial Cells) and MCA - B1 cell lines (canine oral acanthomatous epulis). The results showed that n-hexane extract demonstrated the highest toxicity with LC50 value of 66 ppm whereas IC50 value of 81.6 ppm for MDCK cells and IC50 value of 77.4 ppm for MCA - B1 cells.

 Abstract : The used of bacto agar in microbiological studies increased tremendously, however, up till now, to fullfill its high demand the scientist were still relying on imported bacto agar eventhough domestic production of bacto agar was as good and reliable as those produced commercially overseas. The current study  we focuse on  the production of bacto agar from red algae Gracilaria verrucosa using fell press technique; followed by quality  analysis of the product. Red algae samples were collected from two different locatyions (Bekasi and Subang). Quality of the product was tested  for its content, acid insoluble, ash content, overall ash content, pH, gel strength and its ability to be use as culture  media to culture Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. Microbiological test was performed via pour plate. The results clearly demonstrated thar red algae sample from Bekasi produced bacto agar that meets the criteria of commercial bacto agar. It has 10,3% water content, 3,9% overall ash content, 0,4% acid insoluble ash content, pH of 7,3 and gel strength of 600,8-600,2 g/square cm.

Implementasi Kanban pemesanan sebagai metode order untuk Supplier PT Indonesia Koito


Inventory Management in every corporate must to be well managed and organized. Kanban implementation as the system order is one of improvement  to control inventory. In this study discusses the implementation of kanban ordering PT. Toyota - Astra Motor for supplier PT. Indonesian Koito which aims to minimize inventory in order to streamline warehouse capacity. Data were evaluated include maximum inventory, order lead time, extensive consumption of inventory in the warehouse and also stock amount  of 7 parts PT. Indonesian Koito with average demand per month above 100 pcs. Lead time before the order is changed once a month to 2 times a week according to the time required by the supplier from receipt of order to delivery. The calculation parameters for Maximum Inventory Position based on fluctuations in orders from customers making supplies are kept lower. The results of this study showed that by implementing a kanban system can minimize inventory and eficiency of warehouse capacities and stock amount by 70 %.
