Metropolitan Cities’s Waste Transportation Model
Abstrak

Metropolitan cities have the many problem to manage their waste, particularly in transportation management. One of critical factors to be considered at the time of transporting waste is traffic jam. It means using more resources and high cost. Through system engineering process approach as research methodology, the optimization model is developed using linear programming method to assign specific type of fleet in the right time and destination based on the best route to meet maximum saving of cost where traffic jam factor is inserted as an independent variable.

Implementation of Value Engineering Methods on Piston 5D9 at Machining Process to Reduce Defect
Abstrak

This journal describes an application and implementation of value engineering to improve quality of piston 5D9 in machining process. quality is a capability from organization to afford an appropriate product with customer expected. A value engineering epproach to improve quality more appropriate because value engineering is a systematic methode to improve value even product or services by using function analysis. This research using Pareto Diagram, Cause and Effect Diagram, FMEA and Monte Carlo simulation because those methods are more appropriate after the function analysis and FAST Model have been built. Based on FMEA model, maintanance function have been chosen and finding maintanance schedule with MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) and MTTR ( Mean Time To Repair). MTBF and MTTR calculation in this journal also using Monte Carlo simulation. At the end we know that preventive maintanance schedule is doing every 19 hour with length 0,5 hour.
