Development of Mix Proportion For High-Performance Concrete Using Locally Available Ingredients Based on Compressive Strength and Durability
Abstrak

 

The use of concrete materials to date, remain a key ingredient in such construction work onthe construction of building, bridges and infrastructure. One indicator is the increased production ofreadymix concrete which is nearly 16 billion tons in 2010. But the increased used of concrete,apparently bring the impact of environmental damage. This is due to the fact that production of rawmaterials contributes greatly to CO2in the air. One effort to reduce such impact is to use of highperformance concretes. Mix proportion of High Performance Concrete are strongly determined bythe quality and availablity of local materials. The implications of research result from other countriescan‘t be directly used. Therefore is need to the research on development of High Performance Concrete mix using locally available materials. In this research the mix proportions for f’c : 60 and 80 MPa are developed using local materials that are commonly used by readymix producers. The high Performance Concrete is developed based on compressive strength and durability. The result is expected to be applied to readymix industry particularly for construction use in Indonesia.

Material Development of Nano Silica Indonesia for Concrete Mix
Abstrak

 

Based on data from Indonesian Directorate General of Mineral and Coal Technology,

popular sources of silica sand in Indonesia can be found: Bangka Belitung, Pangkal Pinang,South Sumatra, Lampung, West Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, West Java, and East Java. Unfortunately, the use of silica sand in concrete mix is still limited as filler material. The challenge is then to explore the use of such silica sand, for instance in the form of nano silica. This research work explores silica sand from: Bangka Belitung, Pangkal Pinang, Lampung, West Java, East Java, West Kalimantan and South Kalimantan. The selected silica sand are then processed by the novel method developed by Indonesia Center for Ceramics using Polishing Liquid Milling Technology. The result is expected to contribute in the development of increased added value of locally available silica sand and to advancing application of nano silica for concrete.

Material Development of Nanosilica Based on Indonesia Silica Sand for Concrete Mix
Abstrak

Global  development in concrete technology has entered a new era, better known as the era of smart concrete. In this era, nanotechnology triggers the development of the existing concrete technology. Indonesia can play an active role conisdering its vast natural resources such as petroleum, metals, minerals, coal and other natural materials. However, its role is still limited to providing raw materials. Thusresearch by national institutions must enable advanced development of processing technology for conceret based materials. One source of natural wealth which has the potential to be developed is silica sand. Based on data from Indonesian Directorat General of Mineral and Coal Technology (TEKMIRA), popular sources of silica sand in Indonesia are: Bangka Belitung, Pangkal Pinang,South Sumatra, Lampung, West Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, West Java, East Java. Unfortunately, the use of silica sand in concrete mix is still limited as filler material. The challenge is then to explore the use of such silica sand, for instance in the form of nanosilica. Tests conducted are as follow: X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), Scanning Electron Microscope-Energi Dispersive Spectrometer(SEM-EDS), X-Ray Diffraction(XRD), and Particle Size Analyzer(PSA. The selected silica sands are then processed by the novel mehod developed by Indonesian Ceramics Technology Institute (Balai Keramik) using Polishing Liquid Milling Technology. The result is expected to contribute in the development of increased added value of Indonesian silica sand and to adavancing application of nanosilica for concrete.

Intelligent E-Learning: The Next Generation of E-Learning System
Abstrak

Current e-learning system is still in the form collection of online uniform material for individual access without guidance on how to learn from it effectively.  Such condition will not challenge smart students to learn deeper that force them to abandon the system.  To increase the quality of the system, intelligent e-learning must be used.  In this kind of system, it can personalize its users that the learning materials recommended to a student will be different from the ones recommended to others students based on their profiles.  Such system also offers curriculum sequence technology which enables the students to plan their own learning sequence.  Technologies that can be used to develop such system include: web mining, adaptive information filtering, intelligent collaborative learning, and semantic web

Proposed Intelligent E-Learning System Using Semantic WEB
Abstrak

 E-learning is becoming an important tool in education.  Hence, more and more education institutions use it.  However, most of the e-learing systems used in most education institutions are the passive ones.  Passive here means that they cannot adapt to users’ need or in other words they cannot personalize its users and provide only what users need accordingly.  In order the system to be usefull to the users, it must be able to personalize them.  One form of personalization in intelligent e-learning is the ability to recommend learning materials that fit to their needs.  Such feature is called recommender.  This paper proposes an intelligent recommender system using Semantic Web which is able to recommend learning materials to users based on their interest. To guide the users in learning and understand fully on a specific topic, a subject network, which is a relationship among subject, is used.  The subject network will be presented in a list that suggests the order of learning
