Determination of The Essential Amino Acid from Aloe Vera Gel by High Performance Liquid Chromatography
Abstrak

Aloe vera is a plant useful as a raw material of pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries, also in food and beverage products. In this study to determination of the essential amino acid of A.vera gel (Aloe vera L.) by HPLC. A.vera gel is hydrolyzed using 6N hydrochloric acid, to convert the protein into free amino acids. Then free amino acids were analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) using phenylisothiocyanate (PTIC) derivatization process. The results of protein assay performed on the A.vera gel by Kjeldahl method was obtained 0.14%. The results of the essential amino acid levels obtained by HPLC is an essential amino acid were:  threonine, valine, methionine, isoleucine, leucine, phenylalanine and lysine respectively 7.4 ppm, 12.5 ppm, 11.6 ppm, 14 ppm; 17, 7 ppm, 13.8 ppm and 36.5 ppm.

Chemical constituent of Ethyl acetate Fraction from the Methanol Extract of Typhonium flagelliforme Leaves, Araceae
Abstrak

Typhonium flagelliforme (Lodd) Blume, familia Araceae, is one of the plant for anticancer until there’s no much research is done to know the contents of active compounds of the plants. This study was isolated and identification of chemical compounds from ethyl acetate fraction from Typhonium flagelliforme. This research is continued from previous research which is done by phytochemical screening, the ethyl acetate fraction was isolated using Vacuum Liquid Chromatography, then the fractions were fractionated with column chromatography and the pure compound was identified by UV-VIS, FTIR, LCMS-MS and 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, 2D-NMR including HMQC, HMBC, DEPT and COSY. Antimicrobial and Antioxidant Activity of Keladi Tikus Leaves Extract (Typhonium flagelliforme (Lodd) Blume
Abstrak

Keladi tikus (Typhonium flagelliforme (Lodd) Blume is a plant that has many benefits in health such as anticancer, anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antihepatotoxic. This study aims to determine the antimicrobial and antioxidant activity of different extracts of leaves.T.flagelliforme. The agar diffusion  method was used in the antimicrobial activity. DPPH scavenging radical, the FTC and the TBA method were used in the antioxidant activity. The results showed the ethyl acetate, n-butanol and water phase has antimicrobial activity against Bacillus subtilis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, while the n-hexane pahase has no activity against bacteria tested, and has no inhibitory activity against Candida albicans. The results of antioxidant activity by DPPH method, the FTC and the TBA showed ethyl acetate phase is the most active (IC50 = 56,32 ppm) and has the smallest slope value (0,0677) and the smallest absorbance (0,0231) respectively.

Penetapan Kadar β-karoten dalam Buah Paprika Merah, Kuning dan Hijau (Capsicum annuum var.annuum L.) secara Kromatografi Cair Kinerja Tinggi
Abstrak

Perubahan gaya hidup masyarakat yang cenderung tidak sehat menyebabkan di dalam tubuh banyak terkandung radikal bebas yang dapat mengakibatkan berbagai penyakit terutama penyakit degenerative. Untuk melindungi tubuh dari serangan radikal bebas tersebut, maka tubuh memerlukan antioksidan seperti  β-karoten. Salah satu sayur yang mengandung  β-karoten adalah paprika, yang dibedakan atas paprika merah, paprika kuning dan paprika hijau. Berdasarkan warnanya, maka kandungan  β-karoten yang terdapat dalam paprika juga berbeda-beda. Untuk mengetahui kandungan β-karoten dalam paprika, pada penelitian paprika diekstraksi terlebih dahulu dengan petroleum eter selanjutnya ditetapkan kadarnya secara kromatografi cair kinerja tinggi menggunakan kolom C18 dan fase gerak kloroform-tetrahidrofuran-metanol (70:25:5) dengan laju alir 1 mL/menit pada panjang gelombang 450 nm. Kandungan β-karoten dalam paprika merah, kuning dan hijau berturut-turut adalah 264,34 bpj; 15,95 bpj dan 0,50 bpj; dan memberikan ketelitian dengan nilai koefisien variasi < 2% yaitu paprika merah 0,0045%, paprika kuning 0,9614% dan paprika hijau 0,8154%; dengan batas deteksi dan batas kuantitasi dari β-karoten adalah 0,0259 bpj dan 0,0864 bpj. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode ini dapat digunakan untuk penetapan kadar β-karoten dalam paprika.

Abstrak

Abstract

 

There are two main types of distinct approaches to bureaucracy: the organizational framework and the public choice approach. Bureaucracy can produce an effective and efficient government when it is conducted correctly and openly. On the other hand, a complicated and problem-laden bureaucracy becomes an obstacle to development and public service. Bureaucracy reformation is inseparable from national reformation which started in 1998. In reality, bureaucracy reformation so far has only happened partially. People still feel that they do not experience any real transformation. The transformation is still on terms of instruments such as changes in government infrastructure. Viewed from organizational structure, there is no fundamental transformation in bureaucracy culture even though the definition of bureaucracy transformation is fundamental transformation to improve the government system and implementation. The fundamental impediments faced by bureaucracy reformation are mind-set and cultural-set transformation related to attitude, habits, and ingrained values in the bureaucrats. Law as a social transportation means may be an approach to a comprehensive bureaucracy. This approach which raises law-awareness through knowledge, understanding, setting up, expectation about law is an effective way to implement bureaucracy reformation.
